18 Oct 2009Fundraising is an essential work for any non-profit organization.
The same earlier fundraisers can leave you feeling bored. And if you are bored, imagine the feelings of the people you are trying to get funds from. Adding some creativity into your ventures may make a huge difference, both in terms of finances and your organization’s morale.
It has become increasingly essential to involve in creative fundraising. In order to compete and increase the profile of their business, non-profit leaders have had to think of fundraising in a new way.
Through new age fundraising, it is possible to find new and efficient ways to fund your endeavors. A major gain is that they tend to be much more enjoyable than conventional strategies of fundraising.
People respond better to fundraising proposals when they’re having fun, and when they think you are giving them something different and unique. They will be more likely to donate to your cause if they enjoy your business and its employees.
Let’s take an example of creative animal care fundraising to explain this principle further.
You may have tried getting donations or inviting people to advocacy congregations. These are the widely used methods many shelters rely on.
However, instead of that what if you went with creative fundraising to come up with something like a pet day?
Organize a day for children where they can visit some nice-looking venue and have fun with all the pets that the animal care organisation takes care of.
Once the parents see their children having fun in the company of the animals, they are more likely to give much needed funds. This is creative fundraising: it doesn’t cost much, if anything, and the end product can be impressive. Chances are also there that your staff had much more fun with the children than with an advocacy meeting or soliciting random donations.
There are creative fundraising ideas that are invaluable for any non-profit organization. Let’s look at another example of what you could do to secure donations for a library. Schools always need to collect funds, and being creative surely helps.
Try holding a library day. Community members could come and visit the library and see first-hand the various things that go on there. Students could present or show facts about different activities that the library promotes and offers. Parents will do anything to see the work their little ones present, and once they know all that the library has to offer, they will be more likely to donate.
To get more out of your time, you can also have lunch served at library day. Once there, people will want to eat. Add a bit of wine, and you could see some good donations!
These are some examples of fruitful fundraising ideas that are not only joyous, but practical at the same time.
Find these great places to start finding unique fundraiser ideas to easily investigate sites such as the helpful team fundraising idea site.
